Terms of use

Last updated 10 October 2026

These terms apply when you create a Hook & Plug account or use AskMyPages. By using them you agree to these terms. If you use them for an organisation, you agree on its behalf.

Who you are dealing with

Hook & Plug is a brand of Shipalu LLC, a limited liability company registered in Virginia, 8401 Mayland Dr, Ste A, Richmond, VA 23294, United States (“we”, “us”).

The service

AskMyPages is a WordPress plugin and an online service. The plugin sends the published content you choose to our service, which provides search results and AI-written answers on your site. You need a Hook & Plug account to use it.

Your account

Your content

You keep all rights to your content. You give us permission to copy, store and process it only to provide the service to you, including sending it to the providers listed in our privacy policy. We never use your content to train AI models. You confirm you have the right to publish the content you connect.

You are responsible for content written by your site’s visitors (for example forum posts) if you include it, and for telling your visitors, in your own privacy notice, that your site uses AskMyPages to provide search and answers.

AI answers

Answers are written by AI from your content and can be incomplete or wrong. They link to their sources so readers can check them. You are responsible for your content and for how answers on your site are used; they are not legal, medical, financial or other professional advice. We are not responsible for any decision you, your visitors or anyone else makes based on an answer or search result. We may refuse questions or answers that our safety checks flag.

Acceptable use

Do not use the service to:

Plans, limits and fees

Availability and changes

We work to keep the service available but do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change or improve features. If we ever stop offering the service, we will give at least 30 days’ notice and refund any prepaid, unused period.

Suspension and ending

You can stop at any time by disconnecting your sites and asking us to delete your account. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, if your use puts the service or others at risk, or if payment fails. When a site is disconnected, its content is deleted from our live systems.

Disclaimers

Except as these terms say, the service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of answers, and non-infringement, to the extent the law allows. The service depends on third parties (including our AI, hosting and network providers); we are not responsible for their failures.

Events outside our control

We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events we cannot reasonably control, such as outages of internet, hosting or AI providers, attacks, natural disasters or acts of government.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive losses, or for lost profits, revenue, goodwill or data, even if we were told they were possible. Our total liability for all claims relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 6 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or US$50 if you used only the free plan. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Indemnity

You will defend us and cover our reasonable costs, including legal fees, if a third party brings a claim against us because of your content, your site, your visitors’ content you chose to include, or your breach of these terms.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Virginia, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes go to the state or federal courts in Richmond, Virginia, and you agree to their jurisdiction. Claims must be brought within one year of the event they concern. Claims may be brought only individually, not as part of a class or representative action. If you are a consumer, you keep any protections your local law gives you that cannot be waived.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will tell account holders about significant changes by email at least 14 days before they apply. Using the service after that means you accept the new terms.
